Tangle Ridge executed the remediation and restoration of an active Highway Maintenance Facility located along the Alaska Highway near Fireside, British Columbia. The overall project goals were to remove Petroleum Hydrocarbon impacted soils to ensure the environmental liabilities were properly managed and/or removed.

Tangle Ridge executed the remediation and restoration of an active Highway Maintenance Facility located along the Alaska Highway near Fireside, British Columbia. The overall project goals were to remove Petroleum Hydrocarbon impacted soils to ensure the environmental liabilities were properly managed and/or removed.
Scope of Work
- Provide all site facilities such as construction fencing necessary to perform the work;
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety Plan to safely execute the work;
- Dismantle 25,000 ft2 coverall building for the duration of the project;
- Excavate and stockpile approximately 17,000 m3 of clean overburden;
- Excavate, screen and transport approximately 11,500 metric tonnes of impacted material to a Soil Treatment Facility;
- Import, place and compact in place 4,000 metric tonnes of clean fill to a 95% SPMDD compaction specification;
- Excavate, prepare transport and dispose of 350 kg of asbestos containing pipe;
- Reassemble coverall building following the completion of the project;
- Final site grading and landscape restoration.
